2022/2023- Purpose and learning objectives
The purpose of the internship exam is for students to document their ability to engage in a practical business context and demonstrate the competencies needed to combine the theories and methods taught on the programme with this practice.

Exam in one or more subjectsSubject/module is tested standaloneType of examWritten examinationThe internship report is an individual written exam, which must reflect the students’ personal experiences and learning during the internship. Students are given a written grade for the exam.
Students work with a host company during their internship.
The internship must be based on the student’s specialisation and involve the company’s particular functions/value chain in order for the student to acquire an understanding of the importance of cooperation between functions.
Students prepare a problem formulation based on one of the following concepts:
• An all-round programme, where students become familiar with different functions and tasks.
• The company specifies a task/project which will be the focus of the internship.
The student and the company prepare a joint project. This may be based on topics that the student wishes to investigate further.
• Preliminary study for the student’s fourth-semester final project. During the internship, the student creates a company profile and assignment to be used later in connection with the final project.
The problem statement must be approved by the supervisor and may be adapted during the internship, if necessary, subject to the supervisor’s approval. A proposed problem statement must be submitted to the supervisor during the first week of the internship.Formal requirementsThe problem statement must be documented in the form of a report and any products prepared during the internship.

During your internship you or your group will receive 1 hours of guidance from your counselor.
The rest of the time equivalent to 410 hours are used on internship work. The activities in relation to internship work during the internship depend on the kind of internship you choose, but overall it is your own responsibility to structure the amount of time you spend on writing your report, working at the company, preparing for the exam, etc.
The internship primarily includes of the following activities: writing applications to potential companies, doing industry research, evaluating the internship, completing the tasks that were agreed upon, having dialogues with the employer, writing a report based the internship, interacting with a contact person in the company, producing an internship contract and having it approved.
