  • Purpose

    The student acquires knowledge of a basic product development process, which
    implemented in the following sub-processes:

    • User understanding and needs analysis
    • Data collection
    • Problem statement and wording
    • Personas + Mood and Storyboard
    • Idea generation
    • Functional analysis
    • Product Design Specification (PDS)
    • Outline
    • Marker drawing
    • Concept Model and Man Machine Interface (MMI)

    A study from 3F, which was done in collaboration with the National Board of Occupational Injury (now
    The Labor Market Business Insurance) shows that people employed in the construction industry are at much greater risk of being injured in a work injury than other industries. Some of these injuries include related to the handheld machines used, and one example is the work injury "white fingers" (VWF), which is one of several symptoms of the hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS). Other injuries may be associated with another focal point around work postures.

    As external consultants, you must participate in the initial development phase of handheld machines for the B2B market. You must thus examine the interaction between the product's function on the one hand and the user's needs and wishes on the other. You work in groups of 4 people.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR DELIVERY
    The final evaluation is done by a presentation to the team (10 min per group).

    The exam is divided into two periods in the 2nd semester and is about developing a new product with several moving parts. The first period covers the product development and design area. Here you develop the product. The second project period covers
    the production and business area. This is where business and production facilities are built.

    There are 3-5 students in each group, and as far as possible, we strive to collaborate with
    business.

    First, a synopsis must be submitted and presented, which must be approved by the teacher group and which
    henceforth serves as the problem area of ​​the task. On FRONTER you will find instructions on how to

    In the mid-term evaluation, you present your conclusions from the first half of the assignment.

    Finally, the overall project report is submitted with both phases included.

    All evaluations are open to fellow students unless there are special corporate agreements.

    -Reports uploaded as PDF image files will not be accepted. This means, among other things, that text and tables must be able to be edited, scanned and highlighted in the uploaded PDF format.
    -With group submissions you must remember that all members of the group must submit the material in the respective flows. All members of the group must appear on the title page or other front page.
