The purpose of your multimedia design internship is first and foremost that you have the opportunity to experience the connection between theory and practice and to test your multimedia skills in a work-like situation while you study.Knowledge
It is important that your internship is held in a company where relevant multimedia work is done so that you can have a direct experience of how your skills can be used in practice and gain a better understanding of your professional value in the labor market.
The student has gained development-based knowlegde and an understanding of:Skills
• the requirements and expections of host companies with regard to the student's knowledge, skills and attitudes towards the work
• the praktice-related use of theories, methods and tools by the profession and within the field.
The student has acquired the skills needed to:Competences
• apply verstaile technical and analytical working methods of relevance to employment within the profession.
• assess practice-oriented issues and problems, and present possible solutions
• communicate practice-oriented issues and reasoned solution proposals
• engage in develop-oriented practical and professional activities of relevance to the profession
• acquire new knowlegde, skills and competencies of relevance to the profession
• undertake the structuring and planning of day-to-day tasks within the profession
• participate in academic and interdisciplinary cooperation based on a professional approch
- Type of instruction
The internship can form the basis of the student's final project and can be scheduled flexibly and differentiated. The student can choose to combine internships in two or more organisations or various types of internship. The conditions for internships will be described in more detail on the learning platform for Multimedia Design before the start of the fourth semester.
The internship is unpaid.
The students develop their own individual learning objectives for the internship based on the overall learning objectives for internship period in cooperation with the internship company and the institution.
During the internship, a supervisor from the programme and a contact/supervisor from the
internship company will be assigned to the student.
The internship completes with an exam (internship exam).

The exam is an internal assessment according to the 7-point grading scale. An internship supervisor from the company may take part in the internship exam as examiner together with a teacher from KEA.
During your internship you or your group will receive 3 hours of guidance from your counselor.
The rest of the time equivalent to 408 hours are used on internship work. The activities in relation to internship work during the internship depend on the kind of internship you choose, but overall it is your own responsibility to structure the amount of time you spend on writing your report, working at the company, preparing for the exam, etc.
The internship primarily includes of the following activities: completing the tasks that were agreed upon, evaluating the internship, writing a report based the internship, interacting with a contact person in the company.
