  • Formål og læringsmål

The aim of the elective is to work with digital tender in construction projects using information and communication technologies (ICT henceforth). The focus of the elective is on the potentials BIM offers to the contruction sector,by using advanced digital technologies, which can optimize the tender phase as well as core contructor deliverables in the construction phase. The course will create the link between the ICT teaching in previous semesters and a more practice-based approach to teach digital tendering. It is expected that the students will gain in-depth insight and skills within the subject.
The workload in the course corresponds to 5 ECTS credits. The course length is 3 weeks with group and individual examination by oral presentation

    Viden

It is expected that students will acquire a broad knowledge in the use of ICT in a digital construction projects delivered in different procurement forms. The students must gain an in-depth insight in the interconnections ICT agreements and procedures have with the rest of the project information, including digital design, tender material, tendering, construction and handovers, as well as ICT roles and organization. It is also expected that the students will understand the process and corelated factors that have an impact on digital tendering. In addition, students are expected to understand the purpose of digital tendering, as well as the advantages and disadvantages such tender method have for both the purchaser and bidder.

    Færdigheder

It is expected that students will acquire skills in the application of ICT standards, specifications and advanced digital tools for performing consistency and collision control in the 3D model, handling digital tender platforms, 5D BIM process for preparing the model-based quantity take-off, bid estimates and bids submission. In addition, it is expected that students will gain skills in 4D BIM process simulation for selected phases of the construction process. Furthermore, students must demonstrate in-depth skills in planning and managing digital tendering processes, including preparation of a detailed tender phase schedule, management of documentation, specification of participating actors, services and interfaces, as well as organization and contracting related aspects.

    Kompetencer

It is expected that the students will acquire basic competences within the application of BIM in the construction sector, specifically in handling digital tenders.
