  • Formål

    Construction design introduces the students to the structural engineer's work areas, thereby enabling the students to collaborate broadly in consulting with structural engineers, and be able to solve structural technical problems, simple static tasks at project proposal level and partly at Authority project level.
    The elective course encourages the students, together with the teacher, to build a common understanding framework for structural principles, both in relation to the static calculations and in relation to design Structural solutions. During the module, a common engineer terminology for the description of structural technical conditions is used.
    Central to the teaching is the preparation of a drawing and description project with associated static calculations. A selected topic/theme is also taught, such as CLT. Lectures are supplemented with excursions in the form of site visits, external lecturers from the construction industry, company visits and exercises. The module treat both new structures and renovation. In addition to the project preparation, the students we be introduced to tools/programs for calculation and drawing of structures.

    • Euro norm system, load and load combinations
    • Concrete element construction, including slabs and joint reinforcement.
    • Strengthening of wooden beam layers when utilizing roofs and constructing bathrooms
    in existing multi-storey buildings 1850 – 1960
    • Balconies, system supplies and suspension principles
    • Calculation/dimensioning of columns in steel, wood and concrete
    • Strengthening of existing foundations in old buildings
