Formål og læringsmål
Whether you consider working as a consultant or pursue another role in your future professional life, Professional Services is a dominant part of the business and IT areas. This elective will teach you how to deliver as a consultant and how to develop
and manage a Professional Services Business.

Why services matters? The prosperity of modern countries is mainly created in the service sector, which is contributing with more than 75% to both employment and economic growth. Most businesses have a service component, why successful and profitable delivery of services is instrumental.
Undervisningsform
A mix of theory and practice. There will be lectures followed by case exercises supplied by KEA’s external partners, excursions, conferences and involvement of external partners.

The elective will be based on different literature, some of it delivered free from our partners, however it is expected that the students acquire 2nd edition of the book “Fundamentals of Business Process Management” (http://fundamentals-of-bpm.org/).

Individual oral exam based on written group product. In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam, by the set
deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

Written deliverable: Max 10 pages. The deliverable has
two parts: 1) A proposal for a consulting engagement,
based on a case study. 2) Business plan for a Services
business, including service concept and service product
development. Grading scale: 7-step scale.
