In this context new digital technologies are forcing organizations to reimagine their business models, the way their business processes are designed and the way their employees work in the digital economy. This is also affecting the design of the next generation of ERP systems.
SAP S/4HANA® is SAP’s next-generation business suite, providing a digital core for the organization. It is a new product fully built on SAP HANA®, one of the most advanced in-memory platforms today. SAP S/4HANA® delivers massive simplifications in areas such as
customer adoption, data model, user experience, decision making, business processes, and models. SAP S/4HANA® is designed to integrate with and utilize the IoT, Big Data, mobile, business networks, third-party systems, and more.
After an introduction to ERP systems and the business needs they support, the course will walk through the practical use of the SAP S/4HANA® cloud based ERP system for some of the major processes within a company (like Procure2Pay and Order2Cash).
The course is intended as a hands-on course where you gain a certain level of ability to use SAP S/4HANA® and the same time learn more about the concepts behind state of the art ERP systems.
The course will also support a better understanding of functional and cross functional processes within an organization, as well as processes that integrates organizations with their business partners, suppliers and customers.
The student will gain knowledge how ERP systems work through the introduction to the SAP S/4HANA® (Cloud based) ERP system and also gain a better understanding about the business processes that ERP systems support.
More importantly the student will gain experience in executing standard processes in SAP S/4HANA®.

There will be lectures followed by exercises in the SAP S/4HANA ERP system, case work and more.

Completed participation in the 1-4 semester teaching at the KEA-BEIT education
- or alternatively understanding of and/or experience wtih business processes, managerial economics and logistical flows.
Equipment needed to participate
We assume students to have a laptop that runs Windows 10 (or later) or Mac OS X 10.12 (or later).
Older versions of Windows or Mac OS and Linux might work in most cases – but is not supported with help to install open source tools or handle teaching examples.
We assume students have a HDMI-port or miniDVI/lightning port on their laptop.
In a select few teaching situations (not in 1st semester) examples are used, that does not work well with less than 4 GB RAM Memory – for this 8 GB RAM is recommended.
Students will need office software (Microsoft, Apple, Google, or..).
Students need to be able to produce and read pdf-documents, Word-documents, Powerpoint-presentations and Excel-spreadsheets.
There exist a Microsoft cloud version that becomes available when you set up a free one-drive account.
An Internet browser needs to be available (i.e. Chrome or Safari).
We strongly recommend students to have access to Facebook and a private Facebook-account.

In the subject ERP and SAP S/4 HANA® (EN) you will receive 59 hours of instruction, which corresponds to 78 lessons (1 lesson = 45 min.) and 14% of your total workload for the subject.
