  • Purpose and learning objectives

    The subject element emphasises the design-ethnographic methods with the aim of understanding a specific user group. In addition, focus is on uncovering relevant trends and tendencies to help students optimise solutions for various industry players.


    The student will gain knowledge about:
    ● theory, methods and practice in design, innovation and media strategy as well as how to identify and account for these.
    ● how to formulate and reflect on theories, methods and practice in design, innovation and media strategy.


    The student will get the skills to:
    • look into social trends and future scenarios that challenge the company in the long term and force the company to be in a state of transition and to think in terms of new solution scenarios.
    • detect, compare and mange trends and phenomena in relation to trends and social theory in a historical and user-orientated context.


    The student will get the skills to:
    • prepare written and oral future analytical presentations based on ideological, cultural and theoretical analyses.
    ● handle and discuss development-orientated tasks in design and idea generation.
    ● apply and defend anthropological methods for collecting relevant data and communicate complex professional issues, also across cultures, in a well-argued and well-documented way.
